A few things as of late
Small signs of Spring are showing themselves. Large swaths of bare ground, vegetative buds on the trees and a short stretch of unusually warm weather to tease it’s approach. Realistically, there is a good amount more of winter to endure but the flickering of Spring’s coming is thrilling. I can’t wait to get my hands into the earth.
Minnie is blowing her coat. A twice a year super shed. She’s like a tulip or the first crocus, releasing her winter protection and telling me Spring is coming. I’m covered in her fur and don’t care ;) She’s my familial wolf.
Here, she’s coming down from a post play sesh with her neighborhood bestie, Winnie. Minnie & Winnie, I kid you not.
An undercoat pile from one grooming session. It’s crazy how dense and soft! No wonder she loves snow as much as she does. I signed up for a class to learn how to turn this stuff into yarn but was too sick at the time to attend. So I’ll continue to save it I guess. Someday I will knit a sweater from this stuff.
An abundance of wild rabbit poop everywhere. A gift to the Spring soil. It’s exhilarating to see bare ground again after months of only snow.
Cardinals everywhere lighting up the expanse of white.
