PCP knows that every healthy landscape and every kitchen garden bursting with fresh produce starts with the soil. Through direct soil restoration, native plants, mulching and other techniques, over time, your patch of earth will team with life, economically store and filter water, and provide you with beauty all year round.

PCP designs are thoughtful. I really listen to you and create in harmony with existing elements, considering all the variables, like long range views, privacy needs and seasonality. How will you move through the space? Where will you sit and gather? Is the landscape in harmony with the architecture and feel of your home? I take all this and more into careful consideration when planning your space.

I will always start by assessing what is already available on-site and how those resources might be re-arranged or utilized differently to achieve our goals. I believe, whenever possible, working with existing elements lends more of a sense of history and originality to a space. Rarely do you need to wipe everything out and replace with all new things. From simply rearranging existing resources to retexturing or adding different colors to walls, steps and hardscaping, to adding simple screenings, to working with existing topography you can emerge with a space that has a sense of history and grounded timelessness. Your own truly unique space.

PCP offers soft hardscaping, like garden paths and permeable patios, raised beds, and surface renewals with non-toxic natural materials like mineral lime plasters and lighting. We do not offer full builds, i.e decks, pools or traditional outbuildings. I’m happy to help you plan those into your long term design goals if desired.
