An eagle, a mink & a breakfast burrito
The other day I found a killer breakfast burrito place down the street from my house. A hole in the wall, why are they always the best? They were playing Bob Ross on the TV. Inject those happy little clouds right into my veins. So comforting. On the way home along the lake I saw a bald eagle being chased by a black bird. Min and I went to see the frozen falls and saw a mink playing in the creek.
It’s damn cold out and I still have things to learn. I took a pretty good tumble on the stairs outside, they are like an actual ice rink. Thick blocks of ice. Banged my self up. I don’t want to use salts because they are bad for the animals and environment. I’m looking into these special pads I can put down once I’m able to get the ice off. Had I known better, I would have put those pads out ahead of this weather. Like I said, I’ve got things to learn.
I admire the resilience of spirt the people have here. Neighbors are out shoveling their sidewalks, chatting and ribbing one another. Life just goes on. It has to. And it is beautiful. Otherworldly sometimes. At some hours the whole world is glowing pink, land and sky, and sometimes it’s lavender, sometimes blue or grey. Sometimes everything is white, and the trees, with their silhouettes black and stark against the sky groan in the quiet.
Minnie’s bud Eero came to visit from LA before the snow came. He tours with my friend who is his mom. I ended up staying home with the dogs while she played a show in town and they had so much fun. Laura, if you are reading this, you can drop Eero off for as long as you want anytime. What a lovable little sprite he is.
